Kansas City Man Wins with Ugliest Door
Kansas City, Mo - For a second straight year, Delden Garage Doors, a Kansas City, MO based company, literally brought the holiday ugly sweater home with their Ugly Sweater Garage Door Contest.
Mike Kappler of Kansas City won the contest with his unique take on the ugly sweater being "worn" by a garage door.
Contestants were urged to post a photo of their ugly creation on Delden Garage Doors’ Facebook page (www.facebook.com/deldenmfg) between December 1st and 15th for a chance to win a LiftMaster 8550W Elite Series Operator. Kappler's door won the most "likes" and kept within contest rules for an "a-doorable" win. Last year's prize was won by a contestant from Ohio.
The contest generated numerous entrants and interest from all over the region, including an appearance by Brad Dodson of Delden Garage Doors on the Kansas City Fox affiliate, where he braved frigid temperatures to decorate the TV station's commercial garage door live during their morning broadcast.
"After receiving such enthusiastic participation and wonderfully ugly sweaters during last year’s contest, we couldn’t wait to get into the holiday spirit and see the decorated garage doors again this season,” said Dodson. "It was great fun and also a way to remind folks that roughly 15 to 25 percent of their home is the garage. It’s a vital piece that deserves attention for security, energy efficiency and curb appeal. Delden has solutions to suit virtually any home on any budget."
Delden Garage Doors has more than 100 employees in six branches throughout the Midwest, with door centers in Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield and Camdenton, MO, Wichita, KS and Des Moines, IA.
